Sweet Clare tells the story of one man lost in his grief, and blind to the consequences of revenge.

Pitter, patter went the rain
The tears of the crying sky smattering the shoulders
Of the guy with a bottled up storm inside
With a briefcase in his right hand
He keeps his fists clenched tight
His Armani recklessly drenched
And holding his grief he soldiers forth
Cursing the numbness inside his broken heart
In his mind if it’s imperfect then it must be destroyed

So destroy yourself in this final hour
You have the power over your life
And no one’s coming to save you

Pitter, patter went the rain
On the rooftop of his black Audi
Cruising through the streets that lack
The typical myriad of tourist feet
With a pink charm hanging from his rearview mirror
He can’t bear to remove
For the fear that he will lose the memory of
Sweet Clare
He tells himself every day he’s at fault
Ah, grieving, guilty mind!
Nothing’s perfect anymore
So why care if the world is destroyed,

Drizzling on the courtyard of the courthouse
Clutching to the justice he had bought
If the law cannot provide, he’s prepared to pay the fee
And there his nightmare stands, acquitted of his crimes

While he languishes in his mind’s prison all day and night

I’ll at least make it right
